The Mercedes GLE is the successor to the incredibly popular Mercedes ML - it’s been a marketing move to rename the GLE rather than it being a wholesale change the older ML - the whole, and ever growing range of SUVs from Mercedes is now in one easy to remember series. The GLE, unlike the ML is also available in two different body styles - a coupe version is alongside the regular version of the SUV. These models are direct competition now for the BMW X5 and X6 - and the GLE sits in the middle of the Mercedes range, with the monstrous GLS sitting at the top of the range in terms of size. As with all Mercedes models, a range of trims and options are available - and the engines with a 250 d engine being the entry point, running right across a 5.5 litre V8 in the AMG version of the GLE. As well as a newer more stylish version of styling compared to the ML - the interior of the vehicle has also been refreshed. Four wheel drive is standard across the range, with Mercedes 4matic technology providing the four wheel drive capability.
